We stayed at the Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko for one night during our road trip through Japan before heading to Tokyo. The hotel is spacious and beautiful, with exceptional staff who went out of their way to explain all the amenities to us. One of the staff members kindly walked us to our room, brought our luggage, and took the time to explain everything. The location is fantastic, though unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy the views as we arrived late and the sun had already set. We enjoyed dinner at the Lake Side Grill restaurant. It was quite pricey, but we found it worth the cost, especially after a long day of driving as neither of us wanted to get back in the car to head into Motohakone. The hotel also has an onsen, though it’s important to note that it is restricted to guests without tattoos.

We arrived at the hotel and a hotel employee was waiting for us outside, he took our luggage and things and accompanied us to the reception. Registration was quick and pleasant and then the employee accompanied us with our luggage to the room. The room was large and spacious with a balcony, equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, pajamas and slippers. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard with a beach on Lake Ashi, on a good day you can see Mount Fuji. The hotel has a lounge where you can spend time with coffee/tea, cake and sandwiches. The hotel has two restaurants, one buffet and one French style. We tried the buffet restaurant and were quite disappointed, the food is not worth the money we paid and that was the only thing that disappointed in this hotel. Everything else was excellent.

Amazing setting, right on the lake with views of Mount Fuji! A very tranquil setting, though a little tricky to get around if you're not in a car - there's a hotel run shuttle to Odawara station and the local village, otherwise there are infrequent public buses and all the timetables are outdated ... The hotel onsen facilities were, however, wonderful and the chef at the Lake Side Grill went over and above to ensure I had enough delicious food to enjoy (vegetarian!). An extra big thanks to him for his impeccable service and kindness, though all staff at the Prince were amazing. We would thoroughly recommend staying here a couple/few nights.

Absolutely everything! From the moment we were collected from Odawara station by the hotel shuttle bus we were treated like royalty! The staff were all so charming, kind and helpful. It felt like they all genuinely wanted us to have the best stay, and that we did. Beautiful surroundings and a very comfortable room with every thing you could need supplied. The food in the Lakeside Grill restaurant was delicious and I was so grateful for the effort they’d gone to to provide a very varied and plentiful vegan menu for me. I can’t praise the hotel enough!

Good size room and good location with nice view of the lake. Several restaurants to choose from. Too bad housekeeping did not really clean well for our room. Stayed 2 nights and got a string of long hair hanging on the towel hanger both nights which my husband and I have a very short hair so not it's definitely not ours. Also upon checking out process, front staff was going to charge us for drinks from the mini bar which we did not have. We finally cleared it up with the front office staff and the Assistant Mgr came to apologize us.
